Witch Towels

This is my blog post for Expressions Vinyl!

Hi! This is Candace from Clearfield Designs. Fall is finally here!!! This is one of my favorite times of the year! I LOVE to decorate for Halloween. This year, I wanted to do something fun and unique, but simple.

To create these cute witch legs, you will need to buy two tea towels at your local craft store. I bought mine at Porter’s Craft and Frame. You will also need black iron on vinyl, white iron on vinyl, and green glitter iron on vinyl. I used my Cricut Expression and the Cricut Craft Room to design these legs. My leg images are from 3Birds-On Parade cartridge. I cut them at 21 inches. I needed my legs to be long enough for the towels. I then cut out numerous rectangles using Plantin School Book cartridge. They are cut at 1.7 inch each. My shoes are from Creative Memories-Be Young Cartridge. The shoes are cut at 5.5 inches each. I used buckles from Autumn Celebrations Cartridge. They are cut at 1 inch each.

Normally, you would flip your image backwards when using iron on vinyl. When doing this project, it doesn’t matter. They will cut opposite, but you can still use them. I set my cutting blade at 2, medium pressure, and medium speed. Iron setting was set on cotton blends. I always iron my fabric first before applying my vinyl. I then positioned the witch legs and ironed them on first. After letting the legs cool, I placed the white rectangles on the legs. I carefully ironed those on as well. The shoes came next. Then the buckles. Once again, I’m very careful not to burn my vinyl. It’s a very good idea to use Multi Use Paper Sheets to prevent burning.

I just love how these towels turned out. My daughter (6) laughed and laughed when she saw them.

I hope you all have a very Happy Fall and Happy Halloween!
